about
Indie pop/alternative rock band Paper Satellites continues to ride the familiar train with a dancier, more groove-oriented approach. “Towns,” their latest single under Lilystars Records, balances pop’s pleasure principle with their penchant for guitar-driven hooks, synth-noodling pipes, and big, ecstatic choruses. Sound-wise, the eclectic band takes inspiration from “various guitar-based artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Two Door Cinema Club, and a bunch of other bands with ‘Club’ in their names,” pushing the song’s festive vibe with percussive and synth elements.
lyrics
All I want is to be with you all the time
Taking all my chances just give it a try
High-rise and low tides
Surrounded by tryhards and cold eyes
We’re wishing we’d go back to those times
When we wanted more than this
Now I’m so scared oh no
The sun is getting low oh no
I’ll never be prepared for tomorrow
And I just couldn’t bear the thought of losing you
Is it just me am I eating out my words
Is it just me or does no one care anymore
High price and no time
Inevitability so nigh
We’re questioning choices in our lives
Well we wanted more of this
Now I’m so scared oh no
The sun is getting low oh no
I’ll never be prepared for tomorrow
And I just couldn’t bear the thought of losing you
Or am I taking this too far
Maybe I didn’t think this through
Will I be ready when you’re not around
I know this place is only temporary for us
Now I’m so scared oh no
The sun is getting low oh no
I’ll never be prepared for tomorrow
And I just couldn’t bear the thought of losing you
